May 21st – 14:00 Kick – Overcast

The game got off to a good start with both teams fighting for every single inch of the field. The first interception of the game comes in form Lincolnshire Bombers taking the ball off the Steam. This brought a fire into the Steam defence with quickly having an interception of our own caught by #21 Ollie Forrest returning it for quite a few yards to around the 25 yard marker on the Bombers side. The Steam offence comes on and quickly #26 Mikey (Snowball) Healey takes the ball in for a running touchdown, taking the steam to 6-0. The Steam then go for a 2 point conversion and it is again scored by #26 Mikey (Snowball) Healey giving the score 8-0. The Bombers come back with a fire and fighting with the steam and throughout the quarter slowing going back and forth on the field. The Bombers then get a touchdown and convert the extra point field goal taking us to 8-7 Steam ahead. The half draws out with no extra scores but some mistakes from both sides.

After the half the Steam got into a full on sprint by taking control of the ball pretty quickly in the half and driving the ball down the field with another touchdown and 2 point conversion for #26 Mikey (Snowball) Healey taking us to the score of 16 – 7. After another drive of bombers driving down the field and ending in a punt, the Steam took possession of the ball on the 1 yard line. With some brilliant running and great passes the steam ended up driving down the field to the bombers 5 yard line with a touchdown by #19 Paul Cornforth taking us to a 22 – 7. With the game coming into the closing minutes there is a quick interception by the Steam’s #21 Ollie Forrest again! This lead the steam to trucking the ball down the field as quickly as possible getting down to the wire with 15 seconds left on the clock and all timeouts used up #14 Carl James catches a touchdown with the extra 2 points coming from a brilliant running back #24 Apollo Brown taking us to a score line of 30 – 7.
