Youth Tournament 3 MVP’S @Darlington (11/09/2021)

Tournament: #1 James Wall

James finally managed to complete a full tournament! Tournament MVP was well-earned by James this week! Catching his first TD as well as the conversion! He also played multiple positions all day long and only came off the field on one drive, and that was only due to cramp! James has led by example all season long and has been an absolutely fantastic captain to the team! Great work James!

Game 1 vs Yorkshire Assassins

Offence: #20 Harper Mitchell

Harper had a fantastic 1st game in the tournament, scoring 2 TD’s 1 Rushing and 1 Receiving! (Another in the second game) Harper was an integral part of our offence this season, but unfortunately due to injury this is the first and only game he managed to complete this season. He proved to everyone today that when he is healthy, he is a force to be reckoned with! Big things are in the future for Harper, keep the hard work up!

Defence: #41 Oliver Watson

Ollie had a great game as usual putting great pressure on the QB even playing out of position at outside back he still did exactly what he needed to do, can’t wait to see what he can do next season once he’s been to more than 3 training sessions.

Team: #20 Harper Mitchell

In this first game, Harper was exceptional, He played defence and offence and made multiple plays on either side of the ball. Making plenty of tackles on Defence and scoring 3 TD’s on offence! Harper was well on his was getting player of the tournament, unfortunately he got injured towards the end of the first game and wasn’t able to complete in the second. One day we will get a full tournament out of Harper, and he will be able to put his skills on show! Great work Harper, very well deserved.

Game 2 vs North East Academy Giants

Offence: #19 Harry Ashmore

Harry has been fantastic this year! He has filled in at multiple positions all year long and hasn’t complained once. He has always just gone in and got the job done with no fuss whatsoever! Harry has come on leaps and bounds this season! Scoring TD’s all season long and adding another to his tally for the season! Great work Harry! Once again, a very well-earned offensive MVP for Harry again! Keep up the great work, Harry!

Defence: #54 Sam Patton

Sam always plays fantastic with aggression. He even stepped in at nose when Ollie got injured, managing to get himself a safety!

Team: #9 Ewan Irvine

Ewan had a fantastic end to the season, playing on both offence and defence all season long, Ewan has been a very important player for the Steam this season! Whether it is passing for TD’s at QB, making tackles at CB on defence and even making a couple catches for himself in the last game of the season! I’m looking forward to seeing how far Ewan progresses over the next couple of years, and has the potential to be a great player if he puts the work in! Well done Ewan!
