Youth Tournament 2 MVP’S @Darlington (21/08/2021)

Tournament MVP Sam Patton

Sam missed the first tournament last week due to injury so made his debut this week and what a debut it was! Sam was all over the field making catches, batting passes and making tackles all over the field! Amazing first tournament by Sam and I’m sure many more to come!

Game 1

Offence: Harry Ashmore

The offensive MVP for the first game against the Assassins has got to go to Harry Ashmoore. Harry has been awarded offensive MVP for the second time in two tournaments, standing out for his great performance at RB, successfully following his blocks and running aggressively for a good amount of positive yards. I’m excited to see what else Harry can do as he develops as a player, keep it up!

Jordan McCabe, Offensive Coordinator

Defence: Luke Park-Bradley

After a bit of a hiatus from football Luke slotted right back in and took all the coaching points on board and executed he made some great tackles and covered the centre when needed he had a great game all round even jumping in at NT.

Alex Coatsworth, Defensive Coordinator

Team: Sam Patton

Sam had a fantastic first game! He made tackles all over the field on defence and made some great plays on offence! Sam made a huge impact on the field on his debut and I’m sure will keep this momentum up for his next one!

Game 2

Offence: Dan Mcgrath

The second offensive MVP award for the game against the Senators goes to Dan McGrath. Dan put in some good blocks, helping his teammates run the ball as well as picking up some good receiving yards when transitioning from FB to a receiver. Keep up the good work!

Jordan McCabe, Offensive Coordinator

Defence: Ewan Irvine

After telling the coaches he didn’t know how to play CB Ewan played lights out and always had his receiver covered as well as playing stints at safety when the starter got injured. He plays great on defence making solid tackles.

Alex Coatsworth, Defensive Coordinator

Team: Bailey Cutler

Bailey made huge leaps and bounds this week! Stepping on the field against a very strong Gateshead team and putting in a great performance! Scoring his first touchdown and recovering a fumble! Bailey made everybody in britball very proud this week and thoroughly deserves his team MVP this week! Well done Bailey!

HONOURABLE MENTION

Honourable mention to Jonathan Davies this week! For stepping up from his usual role as a starting DT for the senior team and filling in as the down marker for the youth tournament this week. Huge props to JD for stepping out of his comfort zone. The sheer dedication, focus and passion he brought to the role was outstanding. If any team in Britball need a top tier down a marker for future games please do not hesitate to contact us!
