Youth Team and The Journey to the League

Some amazing news coming out of the club as our Youth Team has been accepted for associate status.

This is the first step in order for the team to compete in the National Leagues with BAFA. The Senior team have been there for two years now and we are very excited to add the Youth Team to that status too.

Youth Team Head Coach, Andy North said “I’m very proud that we have finally completed the application and are able to start finally getting to the chance to compete. It’s a huge testament to the hard work of the club’s Committee, coaches and players that we were able to do this even through the Covid-19 pandemic. This will be a great opportunity for aspiring players in our region and great for youth sports in our local area. I am confident that we have a strong enough squad of players and coaches to really have an impact in the national league”.

Coach North’s comments were echoed by Chairman, Darren Mitchell, “On behalf of the committee and everybody in the club, we are massively proud of the work Coach North, along with Coach Coatsworth and Coach McCabe who have worked tirelessly for the past two years in putting this project together. They have recruited and produced some amazing talent and we cannot wait to see them in games against some of the outstanding Youth programmes across the country. The current squad of players are an excellent bunch who are doing big things. We are very proud of the work the Youth Team are doing and they have our full support in this next phase”
