In a shock move, long term Head Coach, Darren Mitchell has informed the club that he intends to step down down from the role.
For 10 years, I’ve played multiple roles in the club, including both Chairman and Head Coach. Both have been an absolute pleasure and a blessing. However, I’ve decided that I am to concentrate on my role in leading the club as a whole and bring in a new Head Coach for the Adult Contact Team.
From the clubs inception, to our first official game at Flag Level, to completing associate status, to gaining entry to the league, winning multiple games, through winning our conference last season, it has been a great journey and an honour to coach each and every player I’ve had the opportunity to develop. Now is the time to step away. Its unfortunate that I won’t be testing myself at the Division One level but these things happen.
I want to bring in a new Head Coach to freshen things up, for both team and the players, it’s whats needed at this point. The new Coach can lead it their way, as I know the tough task that is at hand but they won’t have the many different responsibilities that I had for all those years.
None of my time is looked at with regret, I love my players, coaching staff and everyone that has been involved with the club. I would like to thank my former players and coaches and the current group. You’ve helped create memories that will last me a lifetime.
I’m looking forward to my new path, it’s still with the club so I haven’t left the organisation, I will be putting everything I have into elevating this club to bigger heights.

Your legacy will undoubtedly endure, and your contributions will be remembered for years to come and will still come as you progress the club forward and put your focus into the development and providing a direction for the club to rally behind.
